Become a Foster Parent
Foster families are special volunteers who are willing to open their homes and their hearts and temporarily care for a dog or cat. Learn how you can become a Foster Parent.

Cat Socialization & Dog Walking
Animals at the Shelter rely on volunteers for much of their human contact, which in return reduces their stress and increases the likelihood they will find a forever home. Details on how you can work with the animals will be given at the Volunteer Orientation.

Lost and Found Pet Coordinator
ACHS is looking for a volunteer to coordinate our Lost and Found Pet Project. This includes follow up with owners, maintaining and updating the lost and found log and bulletin board in the shelter. The time commitment is approximately 2 hours per week.

Postering
From time to time we need volunteers who are willing to place posters through out Addison County to advertise our fundraisers and Community events throughout the year.

Fundraising/Public Relations Committees
Our joint Fundraising and PR committee is run by a group of dedicated Volunteers who plan our yearly events and make them happen. Fundraising events are critical to the operation of the shelter and a lot of fun. We are always looking for ways to expand and enhance these events and our presence within the Addison County community.
Other skills and experience that we could use at the shelter are: computer skills, artistic talents, public speaking and working with children and other organizations in our community, drivers, carpentry or mechanical skills, and many more. If you have a talent that you would like to share with us, just ask.
