An Example of Selfless Giving
In January 2003, several families received urgent appeals
from the Addison County Humane Society seeking emergency assistance with several
malnourished and neglected animals seized by the State of Vermont under the
direction of the Addison County State's Attorney from Laura Lee Bushey.
These families generously and unflinchingly opened their hearts and their homes
despite uncertainty surrounding the mental and physical health of the animals.
Thankfully, 23 months later, as part of the settlement between the State of
Vermont and Laura Lee Bushey, ACHS has now received a signed document from
Laura Lee Bushey relinquishing any claims for those animals. To all of the
wonderful foster families, who may now officially adopt them, thank you.
Its been a long and frustrating journey but your kindness and generosity
set an example for us all in this season of giving.
