Spay/Neuter Information
Spaying and neutering our cats and dogs is the only way we will be able to stem the flow
of unwanted animals into our nation’s shelters. If you have a dog or cat that is not yet
spayed or neutered, please contact your veterinarian as soon as possible to schedule a
time to have it done. Spaying and neutering helps animals live longer and healthier lives.
Low income?
If you qualify for any federal low income program, you may be eligible to take advantage
of VSNIP, the Vermont Spay Neuter Incentive Program. VSNIP is funded through a $2 surcharge
on dog licenses and eligible participants can have their dog or cat spayed or neutered for
only a $10 co-pay.
VSNIP is under the directive of the VT Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets and
administered by VT Volunteer Services for Animals Humane Society. To receive applications
for assistance, send a Self Addressed, Stamped .63-cent Envelope to VSNIP, PO Box 100,
Bridgewater, VT 05034 for each animal.
ACHS often has VSNIP application forms available so swing by our shelter on Boardman
Street to pick one up or call 802-388-1100 for more information.
