| You are invited to participate in a very special program that can have a tremendous impact on the welfare of animals in Addison County. Our Friends to the Animals are a core group of supporters that contribute monthly to help support the care, feeding, and adoption of our wonderful shelter animals, and support important programs in our community. |
| The Addison County Humane Society exists for one simple reason: to be a friend to the animals. |
| One way we do this is by taking in unwanted and homeless animals. Another way is by promising to find every adoptable animal a home... |
| In 2007 we: |
- Provided shelter to 607 animals
- Ensured every adoptable animal a loving home, never euthanizing to make room for other animals
- Spayed or Neutered over 500 animals
- Facilitated the Addison County Anti-Cruelty Coalition to put an end to animal suffering by facilitating the investigation and resolution of animal cruelty and neglect

| We are also working on a number of other initiatives to further enhance our humane education programs for children, provide pet therapy for adults, place senior animals with senior citizens, and address the challenges our community faces with respect to feral cats. |
